The two antennas that are connected to the amplifier need to be a certain distance apart. If they are too close, the amplifier will automatically reduce the gain to prevent signal oscillation (similar to microphone feedback). The Green SST® LED on the amplifier would be blinking red if the antennas are not properly separated.

SBX Boosters can be used with a hands-free car kit or direct connect cable to the cell phone or the Boston Amplifier Antenna Port Module. If used with the antenna port module (APM), the cell phone must be in a cell phone cradle with the antenna APM touching the back of the cell phone.

Bi-directional Amplifiers are wireless and need no direct connection to the cell phone. See BDA data sheet for more details.
