Bi-Directional Amplifiers are wireless devices which work in conjunction with Boston Amplifier APM (Antenna Port Module). There are couple ways to install bi-directional amplifiers in Vehicles.
   
1 Mount in cell phone cradle or mount APM any where in front area of the vehicle, where it doesn’t block the driver’s view. Example below shows the APM is mounted inside the vehicle on top left hand side of the side windshield molding with Velcro.
   
2 Mount the External Antenna at the rear end of the vehicle as shown in figure 2.
   
 
 
 
Selecting A Suitable Location To Mount The Bi-Directional Amplifier
 
Locate a suitable place to mount and conceal the Booster Amplifier. Suitable mounting locations include under the vehicle’s dashboard or under the front seat. For optimal performance, the Booster Amplifier should be mounted as close to the in-vehicle antenna as possible. The location should be easily accessible and free of moving parts, excessive heat, and moisture.
 
This product is for use with a negative ground +12V to +24 power supply or battery
   
Disconnect the vehicle’s negative “—“battery or power terminal before installing hardwired power cable. This will reduce the chance of short circuits during installation.
   
Before wiring the power connection, make sure that the ignition switch is off and connect the hardwire power cable to hot wire (Positive) from Ignition switch and connect the negative wire to a chassis Ground. This implies to hardwire the unit in vehicle.
   
External Antenna connects into the amplifier “Antenna” connector.
   
In-vehicle Antenna or Cell Phone connects into the amplifier “Cell Phone” connector.
   
After power ON observes the LED’s. For further detail Click Here to see SST® condition. This will determine of the internal and external antennas have enough separation.
   
WARNING: The External car antenna should be placed at a minimum distance of (4 to 6 Feet) away from the driver, passengers, or bystanders.
 
CAUTIONS ON INSTALLATION
 
Use caution prior to drilling holes in the vehicle. Check the area to be drilled on both sides to avoid damage.
   
Avoid drilling through or near fuel lines and tanks, brake lines, transmission lines or other wiring of the vehicle.
   
Do not mount the Amplifier or it’s associated wiring in a location that may interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.
   
Mount the Amplifier on a metal surface to dissipate any heat.
